Update: Software 7.0 EASA approved

After two years of intensive development we are pleased to present the software 7.0. The 7.0 software offers unique functionalities that provide multiple benefits for the holder. The main features are:

  • Increasing flight safety
  • The inspection interval for the Comprehensive Inspection (formerly Annual Re-inspection) is increased to 3 years / 750 flight hours.
  • In many cases, repair and maintenance work no longer has to be carried out by the manufacturer, but can be performed by service partners in your area. This saves time-consuming customs procedures and reduces time and costs.

Increasing flight safety The 7.0 software permanently monitors all limit switches, the hydraulic system and all electrical components of the propulsion system during flight with an unprecedented depth. For this purpose, extensive logical queries and physical models were mapped in the software. This enables very fast fault detection. Any errors that occur are immediately reported to the pilot. In many cases, the system can maintain functionality despite a defect or transfer the drive to a safe state.
The pilot is relieved.
Such systems are also used extremely successfully in large aircraft construction. Extended data recording The errors that occur are stored in an error logbook and can be read by the pilot on the ground.
Furthermore, the entire data recording was expanded to a considerable extent.
In addition to the expanded flight data recording, the data recording during the loading process has also been significantly expanded. Inspection interval for Comprehensive Inspection is increased The interval for a Comprehensive Inspection of the aircraft (formerly: Annual Re-inspection) is increased to 3 years or 750 flight hours with software 7.0.
The permanent monitoring of the propulsion system and the proven high reliability of the airframe allowed us to make this increase.
This saves them time and money. As before, they can also perform the Comprehensive Examination as a pilot/holder.
Should the aircraft be transferred to a Monitored Environment of a CAMO, the Antares only needs to be presented to the CAMO every 3 years. In the other two years, you will receive the ARC in the mail.
When operating an aircraft in a Monitored Environment, it is necessary to report certain operational data to the CAMO within agreed intervals. The software 7.0 automatically creates the required operating data (flight times, engine running time, error messages in the reporting period) in pdf format. These can be read out via USB stick and sent electronically to the CAMO.
Due to the low maintenance effort and the long maintenance intervals of the Antares, we recommend a 12-month interval for reporting. Repair measures at the service partner Due to the permanent system monitoring in connection with the considerably extended data recording, troubleshooting is greatly simplified.
For fault diagnosis, data from the main computer can be copied to a USB stick and then sent to us by e-mail.
A large number of defects can be found by us due to the extended data recording without having to bring the aircraft to the factory. In many cases, the repair can then be carried out by a service partner. We provide intensive support for the service partners.
This approach can often avoid long journeys by air and costly customs procedures. In the case of complex repairs, we are able to access the drive system of an Antares by remote maintenance via a secure Internet connection in conjunction with the software 7.0 and a data transmission device available at the partner company in order to carry out examinations and, if necessary, configuration adjustments, e.g. after replacing hardware components. Additional functionalities: Charging after power failure If the charging process is interrupted by a power failure, the charging process is restarted when the power supply is restored within 24 hours. With older software versions, a power failure will abort charging and the abort of charging must be detected by the pilot and charging restarted.

Other

  • The voice quality of the audio output has been improved and the scope of the audio output has been expanded.
  • The software 7.0 has been converted to a current Linux kernel.
  • The software 7.0 also includes the modification of the software 6.10.

The software 7.0 offers a wealth of new useful functions that make flying safer and more comfortable!
